I did a good bit of online research.  I religiously ignored any and all information published by the US Food and Drug Administration.  I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but a huge majority of FDA executives are former agricultural business executives, and many of them return to agribusiness after their “public service” stint.  This is a lot like putting foxes in charge of the hen house.

Instead, I learned from biochemists who backed up their claims with diagrams of the chemical processes of digestion and metabolism, instead of airbrushed celebrities who published unsubstantiated ghost-written dietary information.

And it worked, extremely well in fact.  It took about seven months to lose the 42 pounds.  I learned that while there are technically no fat burning foods, the kinds of calories we consume either entice our bodies to burn fat or store it on our guts and butts.  I cut out the vast majority of sugars in my life, including alcohol.  I drastically reduced the starches as well, such as bread, rice, potatoes, and pasta.  I focused on meats (including red meats), vegetables, fruits, and nuts.  I never went hungry, the food tasted amazing, I ate as often as I wanted, and the pounds came off easily.
